The Angel Who Redeemed Me
Genesis Genesis 48:1-22
At his deathbed Jacob blesses Joseph's sons with three names for one God — the God of his fathers, the God who shepherded him, and the Angel who redeemed him — bound under a single verb. The grammar makes the Angel God, and gives the canon its first Redeemer and its first divine Shepherd in one breath.
