Exodus Exodus 40:1-38
The book of Exodus ends by giving God a home: the finished tabernacle is raised, sealed with the obedience-refrain, and then the cloud covers it and the glory of the LORD fills it — the goal the mountain itself could not hold, and the same rare formula that will one day fill the whole earth.
Exodus Exodus 34:29-35
Moses came down from the mountain glowing and did not know it — and in Paul's hands that shining, fading, veiled face becomes the hinge between the two covenants.
Exodus Exodus 33:12-23
Moses presses his intercession to its limit and asks to see YHWH's glory; the answer is a proclamation of sovereign grace, all his goodness passing by, and the shelter of the cleft of the rock.
Exodus Exodus 33:1-11
After the golden calf YHWH refuses to go up in Israel's midst, offering an angel instead; the people mourn and strip their ornaments, and Moses pitches a tent outside the camp where he speaks with God face to face.
Exodus Exodus 13:1-22
The pillar is one Presence doing two things at once — going before the people to lead them, and never departing from before them; the guiding God and the abiding God are the same God, all the way to the city that needs no pillar because the Lamb is its light.
Revelation 21:23
The Lamb is not called 'light' in Revelation 21:23. He is called 'lamp' — a device that holds and transmits light from another source. John's vocabulary for light, luminaries, and radiance is remarkably varied, and the distinctions are not decorative. They are the theology.
