Genesis Genesis 45:1-28
Joseph's restraint finally breaks, and three times over he reinterprets the worst thing that ever happened to him: 'God sent me before you.' Genesis 45 states its own theology of double causality — the brothers sold him and God sent him, both true — and names the goal in the vocabulary the prophets will spend the rest of the canon developing: a remnant and a great deliverance.
Obadiah 1:1–21
Obadiah is twenty-one verses long. It opens with one brother's betrayal of another on a specific day (586 BC) and ends with the declaration לַיהוָה הַמְּלוּכָה — a phrase Psalm 22 also makes, and that appears nowhere else in the canon. The little book carries a large argument.
