Exodus Exodus 6:1-30
Moses had thrown the accusation in God's face — 'you have not delivered your people at all.' God answers with the same verb and seven first-person promises, and at their center stands a word never before spoken by God of himself: 'I will redeem you.'
Exodus Exodus 4:1-31
Moses fears the people will not believe him; the chapter ends with the words 'the people believed.' Between those poles God names Israel his firstborn son and arms the exodus with a threat that will fall on every Egyptian household.
